Fixed Fee List
We are required by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) to provide price information in a clear and easy to understand format, for specific categories of work. The information below is the best we can provide based on our knowledge and experience, and in the absence of knowing the specific details of your matter.
Fees for areas of work not covered below can be discussed on a case by case basis, and is available upon request.
For individuals:
- Motoring offences - the provision of advice and representation, in relation to road traffic offences, dealt with at a single hearing in the Magistrates Court. The price of £750 plus VAT includes, considering evidence, providing advice in relation to plea and likely sentence, where we cannot anticipate the likely sentence advice on the options available to the court in relation to sentencing, where appropriate, advice on whether an exceptional hardship or special reasons argument should be made, and representation by a solicitor from William Graham Law, at a single hearing. Where representation by a barrister or advocate is required an additional fee will apply, and can be agreed advance.
- Employment tribunals - The provision of advice and representation to employees in relation to the bringing of claims before the Employment Tribunal against an employer for unfair dismissal or wrongful dismissal. The price would be based upon a scale dependent upon complexity.
A straightforward case - in a matter involving no more than one witness per party, a hearing of no longer than 1 day, and no complex issues of law, the fees would fall within a range of £1,000 and £3,000 plus VAT. A case which is not a straightforward case, nor a complex case - in a matter involving a longer hearing of between 2 and 3 days, the fees would fall within a range of £3,000 and £6,000 plus VAT.
A complex case - in a matter involving numerous witnesses per party, a hearing of in excess of 3 days, and involving complex issues of fact and law, the fees would fall within a range of £6,000 and £20,000 plus VAT. Other expenses - where representation by a barrister or advocate is required or where expert evidence is needed an additional fee will apply, and can be discussed on a case by case basis.
For businesses:
- Debt recovery - debt recovery up to the value of £100,000 (undisputed debt). The fee would fall within a range of £1,000 and £2,000 plus VAT and includes, considering evidence, providing advice, initial correspondence with the debtor, letter before action, issuing of a claim (including all relevant paperwork), representation at hearing (provided the hearing is no longer than 1 day). Court fees are not included and will vary dependent upon the value of the claim (court fee information can be located at https://www.gov.uk/court-fees-what-they-are). Where representation by a barrister or advocate is required an additional fee will apply, and can be agreed advance. In addition, where enforcement action is required, once Judgment has been obtained, this will involve further fees and expenses. If the matter is more complex, i.e. where the debt is disputed or where there is difficulty evidencing a contract the fee would then fall within a range of £2,000 and £10,000 plus VAT.
- Employment tribunals - the provision of advice and representation to employers in relation to defending claims before the Employment Tribunal brought by an employee for unfair dismissal or wrongful dismissal. The price would be based upon a scale dependent upon complexity.
